George St Bypass - Information Letter 1 - Construction Phase
During week of May 14, the contractor installed approximately 80 feet of 42-inch storm sewer as well as installed the revetment met at the downstream end of the flared end section discharging into Redmond Reservoir. The contractor is now installing the storm sewer under George St. This installation operation will last for at least 4-5 weeks, weather permitting. During this operation, eastbound traffic will incur heavy delays. The westbound traffic is detoured to Jefferson St. It is best to avoid George St during construction.
As of now, the contractor plans to tentatively start this project on May 7, 2018. Changeable message signs have been erected at the east and west end of George St. During the week May 7, contractor is scheduled to begin storm sewer installation starting at Redmond Reservoir and work their way west.
