Community Oriented Police Division
The mission of the Community Oriented Police Division is to develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate departmental crime prevention efforts. These efforts are aimed at protecting the citizens of the Village of Bensenville from victimization by anticipating, recognizing and assessing the crime risk opportunity and initiating appropriate action to eliminate or reduce the opportunity for crime to occur.
The Community Oriented Police Division handles several programs, such as Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, ORD Airport Watch, Crime Free Multi-Housing, the Student Watch Program and the Organizations Watch Program. The Community Oriented Police Division is the most proactive division in the police department.
In the residential area, the Community Oriented Police Division manages and expands the Neighborhood Watch Program with over 50 groups all over the Village of Bensenville and over 500 members in the community. The Community Oriented Police Division holds crime prevention seminars during the year.
