White Pines Watermain Construction Updates

Update 10/15/2021

During the week of October 11th, the contractor performed the final connection of the new system and final disconnection to the old system. Each of our residents are now being supplied water from the new water system and out to the right-of-way. The next month will now consist of pavement repair, landscaping, and punchlist work. Weather permitting, the pavement contractor is expecting to grind and place binder pavement on Tuesday and Wednesday. Unfortunately, this will mean most of you north of White Pines to Red Oak will need to have your vehicles relocated from the area for two days. A notice will be distributed to your doors on Monday from the engineer identifying locations to park. Following the placement of binder, the contractor will adjust approximately a dozen structures and prepare the pavement for final surface asphalt. Once the final surface is down, the landscape contractor will come back to restore all disturbed areas – including back yard and private property damage from the project.

Update 10/11/2021

During the week of October 4th, the contractor performed water system connections and disconnections along Church Road. Church Road was patched and reopened on Friday as planned. We thank you for your understanding and patience during the road closure. During the week of October 11th (weather permitting), the contractor will focus on the last remaining underground water connections/disconnection/installations. On Tuesday, the contractor plans to install a new valve on Church Road near Red Oak (flaggers will be used to direct traffic during the installation). Wednesday will consist of performing a disconnect on White Pines (between Ridgewood and Hawthorne) and pre-digging the last connection to the new system at Hawthorne and White Pines. The connection will be made on Thursday along with the last disconnection on White Pines between Church and Hawthorne. Friday will consist of a cleanup day and preparing the site for the asphalt contractor to come in next week.

Update 10/05/2021

Over the past two weeks, the contractor has completed all service connections to the homes within the project. This is a huge milestone for us. With this accomplished, the contractor is not focusing on making the final connections of the new water system as well as the last of the disconnections to the old system. During the week of October 4th, the contractor will perform three disconnections and one connections on Church Road. Unfortunately, this will require the closure of Church Road during the week.  Water shutdowns are expected along Church Road Tuesday (Red Oak connection and midblock disconnection between Red Oak and White Pines), Thursday (midblock disconnection between White Pines and Forestview) and Friday (disconnection at Forestview). The contractor plans to patch the roadway and open it back up by the end of the day on Friday (weather permitting). Elsewhere on the project, the contractor completed public landscape restoration on the south half of the project. Please recall that private landscape restoration will occur at a later date. Patchwork for the water services was also performed.

On Monday they hope to pre-dig and prep for the connections at Pine Grove and White Pines Road.

On Tuesday they plan to make the connections – this will unfortunately include water shutdowns for those on White Pines that have services that go out to White Pines (between Briar and Hawthorne).

On Wednesday, they plan to pre-dig and prep for the connections at Ridgewood. They would perform the connections at Ridgewood – again shutting water off to those on White Pines between Briar and Hawthorne.
