Dear DuPage Friends & Volunteers,
In the past week, many wonderful people, ready to lend a helping hand and heart, have contacted us. Always, in challenging times, we are reminded of your generosity. We thank all who are ready to volunteer.
YES, we are calling for hundreds of people to sign up, because there is a tremendous volunteer gap to fill, as others are unable to assist or have been asked to stay home. We have created an ’URGENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS’ page at our Volunteer Portal - givingdupage.org/volunteer - to direct volunteers straight to where it is needed most.
- homelessness/housing
- food security/hunger/meal delivery
- serving vulnerable populations - such as seniors or children
You can contact the agency directly by phone or email and this list will be updated frequently, with new needs, so please check back often. If you are willing, your help is needed. Please sign up to volunteer if you are healthy and able-bodied, preferably younger in age.
Please do NOT volunteer if you:
- are or have been sick at all in the past 3 weeks (even if no virus symptoms)
- have traveled in recent weeks
- are a senior citizen or if your immune system is compromised
This is our opportunity to show how the DuPage community comes together in a time of great need. We send our wishes of health and safety, to you, your family and friends.
Please feel free to contact us with questions at givingdupage@dupageco.org.
Thank you for your kindness.
