Bensenville is creating its new comprehensive plan and invites you to participate. The last comprehensive plan for the Bensenville was created in 1980. With the help of a technical assistance award from CMAP now is the time to develop a comprehensive plan that will build upon the Village’s assets to address current local issues and provide a roadmap for achieving long-term goals. All residents, business owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders from the community are invited to participate. Please join us as we begin the process of creating the Village’s new comprehensive plan.
Topic areas typically addressed in a comprehensive plan include land use, transportation, infrastructure, parks and open space, housing, retail/commercial development, and community image and identity.
The planning process will include three phases, with public input being a key component of each phase. The first phase will involve a thorough analysis of the existing conditions within the community using information gathered through one-on-one stakeholder interviews, steering committee meetings, focus group workshops, public meetings, review of previous studies, and available data. Phase two will focus on creating a vision for the future of Bensenville by identifying goals and objectives based on findings from the Phase 1 analysis and a public visioning workshop. The final phase will combine efforts from previous phases to create the comprehensive plan document containing policies, programs, and actions steps to be undertaken in order to achieve the community's future vision for the Village of Bensenville.
